The event, which took place in the Casa Llotja del Mar, a historical site propriety of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, was held with two other events within the framework of Invest in Med: a public presentation of the selected initiatives within the framework of the 2nd Invest in Med request for initiatives; and the Conference of the Union for the Mediterranean on the subject of "The Mediterranean countries and the global economic crisis".

In the elections AFAEMME, represented by Mrs. Mª Helena de Felipe Lehtonen, was chosen Member of the Board of Directors for the period 2009 - 2011 and Ms. Wafaa Sobhy Ibrahim, representative of the Egyptian General Authority For Investment and Free Zones (GAFI – Egypt), was elected the new President of the ANIMA Investment Network.
