Widjani Al Saket Talhooni
Senator Wijdan, the wife and the mother of three, the active Jordanian Lady in the senate house, who is well-known for her strong logical stands for women issues in Jordan and her representation of the active Jordanian women in economics, politics and life in general.
She is a fluent three language speaker; Arabic, English and French, as she received her primary and secondary education from the Dame De Sion Convent – Jerusalem, and her advanced GEC from St. Martin – UK. She was graduated as a B.A holder in “Art, Business and Politics” from the Lebanese American University 1967, formerly known as “Beirut College for Women”.
As a person who joined art with politics and economy, her practical experience started when she worked in the Central bank of Jordan (1968 – 1973), soon after, she moved into running her family business and leaped into starting her own in ‘Decorative Antique Trade” 1995.
Nowadays, beside her busy schedule in the Senates house, she is the chairperson of the Jordan Forum for Business and Professional Women (JFBPW) where the Queen is its honorary president, an executive board member for the development and employment fund, an executive board member for the Council of Arab Business Women and the representative of the International Federation of Business and Professional Women (IFBPW) to economic and social commission for ESCWA.
Senator Wijdan has conducted four distinguished researches in women issues such as the “Thoughts on Women Participation in the Jordanian Politics”. And she is a holder of the individual distinguished Performance Certificate from the “National Performance for Development and Awareness Programme”
