Statutes of the Association of Federations and Associations of Businesswomen of the Mediterranean. AFAEMME
Heading I. – General Arrangements
Article 1. – Legal Capacity, Management and Duration

The Association, named "Association of Federations and
Associations of Businesswomen of the Mediterranean", from
hereon referred to as AFAEMME, is a coordinator of non-profit
matters, with its legal capacity, constituted for an indefinite
period, protected with the aid of article 22 of the Spanish
Constitution and the Organic Law 1/2002, of 22nd March, regulator of Association Law, together with the norms
that complement these Statutes.

For the fulfillment of its objectives, the Association has its
own and complete legal identity and capacity and therefore may
possess, record or transfer assets and exercise all types of
functions and contracts, exercise rights and actions or exhibit
the collective representation to all private and public
organisms, Official Chambers, Confederations, Federations,
Unions and Associations of professional circles superior to its
own, Professional Colleges and Companies or entities of
whichever nature.

The organization, function and legal regime of AFAEMME are in
line with democratic principles.
Article 2. – Duration
The duration of AFAEMME is indefinite.
Article 3. – Address and Territory
AFAEMME resides in C/. Muntaner 340, 1º 1ª, 08021 Barcelona, Spain. It will be able, with the agreement of the General Assembly, to changes its offices.
Equally, it will be able, with the agreement of the Joint Directive, to open, change or close its offices or delegations in whichever place that, for the obtainment of its objectives, AFAEMME considers convenient.
The working area of AFAEMME is that of those countries, autonomous communities or regional areas that form a politically determined and differentiated territory of the whole of the Mediterranean Basin. Also included are those Associations or Entities of Businesswomen of a non-profit nature, connected with the work and activities of AFAEMME.
Article 4. – Official Languages
The official languages of AFAEMME are Spanish and English.
Article 5. – Objectives
The ultimate objective of AFAEMME is to reunite the
Associations and Federations of Businesswomen and Female
Executives, established in the Mediterranean Basin and to
represent its Associations and Federations, with the desire to
promote and coordinate the activities in endeavor of their common
objectives, tending to:

Contribute to the cultural development of Businesswomen and
women in general, and aid its complete formation, remaining
conscious of its responsibilities of obtaining a large number
of women who are in a position to carry out, wholly, the role
incumbent on them.

Promote equality at work and improve the conditions for
women in their socio-economic, technical and professional
lives, eliminating all discrimination.

Promote the development of relations among Mediterranean
businesswomen, to maintain a permanent closeness among them
and specifically within the frame of International Treaties
and those countries, which belong to the Associations and
Federations of AFAEMME.

Coordinate and unite the individual efforts of the distinct
and dispersed Associations and Federations of Mediterranean
Basin businesswomen, which are connected to advancement and
progress, promoting common activities and projects which
multiply the day-to-day activities and specific tasks,
overcoming isolation and strengthening solidarity.

Promote, to the Associations and Federations, opportunities
that allow them training and capacity in leadership, and
support those already in such a position so that they may be
able to collaborate, with effectiveness, in the distinct
activities of society.

Exercise influence on public opinion, through work,
campaigns and presentations to the authorities, with the
objective of perfecting the legal, social and professional
conditions of women.

International cooperation with development, directed at the
integration of the principles of equal opportunities of men
and women.
Article 6. - Activities
For the fulfillment of the objectives outlined in Article 5,
AFAEMME will develop the following activities:

Aid the creation of structures which widen the role of women
in development, by way of improving their life condition and the
offer of means with which to participate wholly in the
activities of production and community development, removing
those obstacles which make their complete economic, political
and social integration difficult.

Increase investigations, which deepen the socio-professional
profile of businesswomen and female executives in their
professional career, for more effective solutions to their
problems.
These said investigations, moreover, must make available the
ratability of female business activity for the creation of new
employment.

The carrying out of action plans that promote the professional
and career expansion of women, that favour the orientation of
training towards better preparation in business and commercial
techniques, as well as new productive activities.

Support the work of members of the Associations and
Federations, via the establishment of services of common or
specific interests, which they require to complete their tasks
in the best condition.

Push for the creation of new Association and Federations and
their integration into AFAEMME, providing them with unity and
solidarity to intensify, at the same time, relations with
Associations not federated, finding for them meeting points and
paths of common action in terms of specific action in terms of
specific objectives, which coincide with those of the
Association.

Support all those actions and programmes, which from the world
of public and private institutions, collaborate with the
complete incorporation of women in society.

Represent and manage, in general and for the common interests
trusted to the Associations and Federations of AFAEMME, to
representative levels of management or decision-making on socio-economic
and cultural issues.

Establish, maintain and protect relations with international
bodies.

Favour collective negotiation among members, as well as advise
in social dialogue and institutional participation.

Hold, among all or some of its members, congresses, seminars,
round table meeting, specific seminars and promotional campaigns
related to economic, social or other themes.

Push for agreements and treaties, which serve the purpose of
the Association.
-
Facilitate reciprocal use of services to its members, which
offer each and every one of them, access to all information,
which is useful for the carrying out of the work of AFAEMME.
-
Whatever else is related to the work and objectives of
AFAEMME.
