2nd International Forum on Women Entrepreneurship2nd – 3rd December 2011, Sofia (Bulgaria)The Second International Forum on Women Entrepreneurship is jointly organised by the Bulgarian Association of Women Entrepreneurs (BAWE) and Business & Professional Women Sofia (BPW Sofia). Co-organizers of the event are: the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism, the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency, the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the Sofia Municipality. The International Forum on Women Entrepreneurship aims at encouraging ladies’ business leadership and at popularising their active presence at managerial positions among the business circles as well as among the general public, by means of presenting, from one part, the activity of the companies they are in charge of, and from the other - by subjecting to discussion women entrepreneurship’s topics of present interest. To this end, the event will run in two different aspects – the one, being a discussion forum and the other – b2b meeting. Among the Forum invitees are foreign organisations of women entrepreneurs, most of which coming from Europe, as well from Balkan region. Workshop on the Role of Businesswomen in the Economies and Societies of the Arab Region – Gulf Research MeetingJuly 6-9 2011, Cambridge University, Cambridge (UK)This workshop aims at making a distinct contribution to the existing literature not only by bringing together recent and innovative research on female entrepreneurship in the Arab world and the Gulf countries in particular. The event is being prepared by CSW together with all five United Nations Regional Commissions and the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs and will pursue the sharing, among United Nations Member States and representatives of non-governmental organizations and of UN entities, of experiences and good practices, with a view to overcoming remaining obstacles and new challenges, including those related to the Millennium Development Goals. Mission of Moroccans entrepreneurs in BarcelonaFrom April 4th to April 11th AFAEMME will receive - in Barcelona, Spain - a mission formed by 11 Moroccans female entrepreneurs who were trained throughout the year 2007 in a business incubator located in Casablanca, Morocco. During their stay, AFAEMME will contact these entrepreneurs with five Catalan businesswomen in order to support Mediterranean business networking. This entrepreneurial mission also includes two seminars: the first one, on Business Motivation, will be imparted by Mrs. Beatriz Fdez-Tubau, AFAEMME’s legal adviser and the second one “How to make businesses in Spain” will be given by AFAEMME’s International Relations Director, Mrs. Elizabeth Trallero.
