Presentation of the "Imagining Growth 2" project outcomes in Brussels

In Spain, 10 young unemployed women have been trained and supported in starting their businesses and 10 businesswomen have been trained in investment readiness and sustained in growing their businesses.

Representatives of AFAEMME and of the Catalan Association of Business and Executive Women (ACEE) traveled to Brussels to present the outcomes of the implementation of the Leonardo Lifelong Learning project "Imagining Growth 2" in Spain. 

The final findings and conclusions of the project, which has been implemented during 2013 and 2014 in Italy, Poland and Spain under the leadership of the Women's Economy (UK), were exposed during a Good Practice Workshop which took place on September 30th 2014 in Brussels.

Ms. Sally Arkley, Director of the Women's Economy, welcomed the participants and presented the interim findings of the project, followed by a speech about new European policies regarding women entrepreneurs from Ms. Stephanie Mitchell, Deputy Head of Unit of the EC's DG Enterprise and Industry.

After this brief introduction it was the project partners' turn to introduce clients, trainers and mentors. In the case of Spain, AFAEMME brought Ms. Beatriz Fernández-Tubau, mentor and trainer of the ACEE, and Ms. Anita Avanzini, a young businesswomen who participated in the project's Investment Readiness Programme.

The event was closed after a speech from Ms. Helen Hoffmann, Advisor for Social Affairs of the European Employers' Organization for Crafts, Trades and SMEs (UEAPME), and the presentation by Ms. Nicoletta Bertolone Jones of the Association Women@Work Italia which was created as a result of the project.
